Josh Jacobs Returns to Packers Practice in October

Josh Jacobs, the Green Bay Packers running back, resumed practice on Wednesday and might play in Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. Jacobs had been sidelined for the first six games of the season due to being on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list. Despite participating in team meetings and conditioning, he was not allowed to engage in any team practices or games during this period.

Coach Matt LaFleur expressed optimism about Jacobs’ condition, noting that while Jacobs has been away from football activities, he has continued to train. The Packers, struggling with the worst rushing offense in the NFL, are hopeful that Jacobs’ return could boost their performance. Despite their challenges on the ground, the Packers have a record of four wins to two losses.

LaFleur plans to assess Jacobs’ readiness as the week progresses, with an eye toward possibly including him in the lineup for Sunday’s matchup. However, Jacobs’ future participation is pending the outcome of an ongoing NFL investigation related to his offseason conduct. Nonetheless, the Packers have expressed their support for Jacobs and do not plan to release him.
